Background

These captains command the raider crews that work the Sablecoast lanes — veterans of enough coastal violence to have turned instinct into strategy. They maintain their authority through a combination of competence and the willingness to demonstrate it. Some operate from semi-legitimate fronts in Grimharbor or smaller coves along the coast; others are pure pirates with no pretence. A few have unknowingly passed through corrupted waters often enough that the Draft is already in them, unnoticed — a sharpness they mistake for experience, a coldness they mistake for discipline.
