These cloaks have been made in Frostmarch for generations — long before the Corruption worsened. The original craft came from goliath clan-weavers who learned to layer wool, treated hide, and dried lichen in patterns that trap heat close to the body. As the Corruption spread and the deep cold became permanent in parts of the march, the techniques moved through refugee networks and reached artisans in Snowgate and Kaldhavn, who now produce them for anyone who can pay.
Most who survive the deep march wear one. They don't look like much — heavy, dark, usually smelling faintly of smoke and cold stone — but the warmth they hold is steady in ways ordinary wool is not. The resistance they offer is not magical in the traditional sense. It is craft: knowledge of cold accumulated across many hard winters, stitched into something you can put on your back.
