Background

Ummonlim is from Stonebridge, where his father serves as a guard in the towers that watch the great bridge. He grew up around sentries, merchants, toll traffic, and the constant movement of people across Crownvale, learning early that if you stand still long enough in the right place the whole realm will eventually pass in front of you. Round little Omen never looked built for speed, which only made it more surprising how light on his feet he turned out to be. He moves with the quickness of someone who enjoys proving expectations wrong.

On a hunting trip with his father in the mountains outside Hearthmere, he happened to meet Triston King, and what caught his attention immediately was the excellent mining cap Triston was wearing. Omen asked where it came from, fixated on the answer, and soon made his way straight to the hat shop in Hearthmere.

There he met the Hatter of Hearthmere, who understood at once that Omen did not want a merely practical hat. The Hatter made him a beautiful top hat trimmed with a rare feather from a bird found only in the Skyglass Range. Omen loved it instantly. It suited him perfectly: a little dramatic, unexpectedly elegant, and impossible to ignore. His magic tends to arrive with much the same energy.
