Made by the Lost Guide of Frostmarch before his disappearance. How it came to be in the dungeon beneath the Castle of High Alden is unknown.

A brass lantern whose magical flame never dims from wind and interacts with corrupted creatures and environments in unexpected ways.
The flame inside is the original flame the Lost Guide lit — it has never gone out. It doesn't burn oil; it sustains itself on whatever the Lost Guide bound into it. The Lost Guide understood the Frost Corruption more deeply than the other Guides did, and the lantern reflects that: it was made not just to provide light, but to push back against something specific.
People who spend extended time within its light report sleeping more soundly, and that recurring nightmares — a common early symptom of Frost exposure — diminish or stop entirely. The flickering near corrupted things is not a deliberate warning. The lantern simply responds, the way a compass responds to north.
