Fashioned by Professor Sylic in the Underhall Archives beneath The Collegium Arcanum as a controlled research tool for studying The Frost Corruption without permitting raw exposure to it.

with Professor Sylic
The Rimebound Pendant began as a modified Heat Stone Pendant. Sylic bound a cut fragment of Heat Stone together with a living corrupted trace inside a dense primordial ooze medium used for specimen containment. The result is a portable equilibrium: enough warmth to keep the sample from blooming outward, but not enough to destroy the pattern he is trying to study.
At a glance it resembles an ordinary heat stone pendant, practical rather than ornate. On a second look the stone is visibly wrong. Warm mineral light and icy blue-white rime appear braided together inside the setting, as if two incompatible states have been forced to share the same small space. Sylic uses it when he needs proximity to corrupted matter without carrying an exposed sample through the archives.
The pendant offers connection, not comfort. Those who wear it for long report numb fingertips, cold dreams, and the unsettling sense that something on the other side of the link has noticed them.
Any living thing you see within 10 feet of yourself, you can take the Magic action and you will mentally see a flash of frost & ice if that creature is infected or you will receive nothing if it is not infected.
Each charge you use higher than one you receive a flash of the moment that living thing was infected by the Frost Corruption. Each charge allows you to go back one infection event.
If you use three charges on a corrupted creature. The wearer would see a flash of frost & ice, then a flash of the moment that creature was infected and then a flash of the moment the creature that infected it was infected.
